This four-hour guided hike is made for folks who like their trails a little rough and their rewards a lot spectacular. Humes River Falls winds through one of Cape Breton’s lesser-known wilderness areas, leading to a dramatic 20-metre waterfall tucked deep in a forest gorge. It’s a quiet trail with a rugged charm—expect roots, stream crossings, and the occasional rope to help navigate the steeper bits.
The journey begins on a wide path that narrows as the forest closes in. Along the way, we’ll pass numerous forest habitats, bubbling brooks, and mossy clearings that feel like something out of a storybook. As we near the falls, the sound builds until the forest suddenly drops away—and there it is: water pouring into a shaded gorge, framed by rock walls and towering trees.
We’ll bring along a trail lunch and take plenty of time to enjoy the falls. This tour is best for moderately fit hikers who want a half-day backcountry experience without venturing too far off the grid. Come ready for memories, mist, and one seriously photogenic waterfall.
After booking, you will receive an email with pertinent information, links, or downloads.
